Test? You mean there is going to be a Test?

Henry Clay is doing fantastic! Watching him at home and at school is simply a constant learning experience.  He gets so tired just hanging out with people constantly.  When he visits a classroom and students pet him and love on him, he does exactly what he should do. He lays down rolls over, gives them some really sweet puppy eyes, they might even get a puppy kiss.  He doesn't run around, he isn't doing puppy jumping jacks or the circles he does around the Christmas tree at home.  He is mostly polite- there is the occasional scratch to his unmentionables that he can't seem to stop himself from doing. But overall he is doing fantastic.  In the hall, kids will line up for a quick little pet on the back and he lays there and gives that love willingly.  Sounds like the life of a king.

So when I had a couple of folks ask me "is he certified?" I had a minor moment of angst.  Why does my entire career determination as a success or failure have to be determined by a test.  Henry Clay has grown mountains in the weeks we have had him.  He came in peeing everywhere, biting everything, shredding my homework and priceless pieces of art that were on my walls. Now he only shreds board reports and receipts that I leave in the wrong places.  He is almost completely house broken (almost) He knows when he is working and when he can play, he is so smart! But still we will have to likely have him pass a test of some sort.  What if he doesn't? What if he fails? What if no matter how good he is for us at school when we take him and give him the standardized test he gets too nervous? What if he just doesn't feel good on that day? What if the day we have the test he gets stressed out and has to sit on the side of the road until AAA can come and change a tire for us? (that really stressed him out)  What if he fails?????

Well in truth, we will reschedule and keep working at it until he passes.  But it just seemed to me that he is doing fantastic, and holistically anyone who comes in and sees the great things he is doing and the impact he has had on the school community they would know the pup is an asset.   I don't even know when or if he will actually take the test, but as we continue to work with him there are so many amazing interactions with people he meets I am confident in his success.

Maegan sent this to me, it was one of her Friday Funnies-- She said it reminded her of Henry Clay... Me too!

Test- There were two tests, and one for me too.

Someone said, "you should write a book."  I feel like a book would require more pages, I just can't get myself to sit down and...
